About Us

Welcome to The Online Artist, where art meets emotion, expression, and healing.

My journey with art began at the age of 14, and it quickly became my refuge. Growing up in a challenging environment with family issues, I often felt alone and overwhelmed. Art became more than just a hobby; it was my therapy, my escape, and my way to channel my thoughts into something beautiful.

During my high school years, I immersed myself in art and found joy in using everyday items such as food, clothing, or objects as tools to create unique pieces. Art allowed me to explore, express, and connect with myself in ways I never thought possible. I spent countless hours refining my skills, experimenting with different media, and developing my style. This dedication to my craft helped me grow not just as an artist, but as an individual.

The artwork featured on this website is a collection of pieces from that era of my life; a time when drawing was my sanctuary. Each piece holds a story, a moment, or a feeling from my past, captured and transformed into digital art for you to enjoy. I’ve carefully scanned and digitised these drawings, making them available as downloadable prints. This way, you can bring a piece of my journey into your space, printing and displaying it as you wish for personal enjoyment.

One of my most memorable experiences was during my GCSE art exam, where the theme was landmarks. This project was more than just an exam; it was a transformative process that pushed my creativity to new heights. I spent weeks exploring different landmarks, sketching ideas, and developing concepts that could represent the essence of these places. In the end, I chose to focus on Birmingham, my hometown, and create a piece that embodied its spirit and diversity.

For my final exam, I crafted a master A0 size artwork using mixed media, including coloured pencils, pencil sketches, watercolour, thread, oil pastels, and more. I wanted to capture the essence of Birmingham with elements that the city is known for. Although the exam allowed 20 hours to complete the piece, I didn’t quite manage to finish every detail. A few of the circles inspired by the Birmingham Library remained unsewn, but I chose to leave it that way. To me, the unfinished aspect of the artwork represents not just my artistic journey but also my personal growth during that time of my life. It stands as a reminder that art, like life, is a continuous process of evolution and discovery.

The GCSE exam was a pivotal moment in discovering my artistic style, which is characterised by vibrant, colourful pieces that capture the essence of the subject while adding a playful twist. This journey taught me the importance of research, exploration, and planning in my art. For example, my Birmingham piece was not just something I created within the 20-hour exam timeframe. It was the result of a six-month process that included in-depth research into Birmingham’s history and landmarks, extensive sightseeing and photographing my hometown from various angles, and focusing on the intricate details of these places. I experimented with editing photos to explore different presentations and studied various artists’ styles, incorporating elements from their techniques into my own work. I created practice pieces to test these styles with different objects and drawings, and meticulously planned the layout, colours, and media I would use. This comprehensive approach not only helped me produce the final artwork but also solidified my love for creating pieces that blend realism with a burst of colour and creativity.

In the past, I’ve sold my work as prints on various marketplaces, but as I transitioned into adult life, other commitments pulled me away from my art. Now, I’m excited to offer my artwork as digital downloads, allowing everyone to enjoy these pieces at a fraction of the price. This format not only makes my art more accessible but also eliminates shipping time and costs for both myself and you, the customer. You can now download, print, and enjoy the art more quickly and affordably.

If you’re interested in purchasing the original piece of any of the artworks displayed, or if you’d like to commission a completely new original piece, please don’t hesitate to contact me using the form on the website. I’m always open to discussing your ideas and providing a quote to bring your vision to life!

Thank you for being here and supporting my journey. I’m excited to share these pieces with you and I hope my art brings you the same peace and joy that creating it brought me.
